Token Verification Guide

How to Verify Token Authenticity

  1. Check the contract address: Always verify the token contract address against official sources such as the project's website or official social media channels.
  2. Use blockchain explorers: Examine the token on Solana explorers like Solscan or Explorer to check transaction history, token distribution, and contract code.
  3. Verify market cap and liquidity: Be wary of tokens with unusually low liquidity or market caps that don't align with the project's claimed status.
  4. Research the project: Look for a legitimate website, active social media presence, transparent team information, and community engagement.
  5. Check for audits: Legitimate projects typically have their smart contracts audited by reputable security firms.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • Similar names to popular tokens: Scam tokens often use names that closely resemble established projects.
  • Excessive promises: Be skeptical of tokens promising guaranteed returns or unrealistic price appreciation.
  • Limited or locked liquidity: Check if the liquidity is locked or if there's a risk of "rug pulls."
  • Anonymous teams: While not always a red flag, lack of team transparency can be concerning.
  • Unusual token distribution: Large percentages held by single wallets may indicate potential for price manipulation.

Wallet Security Guide

Securing Your Wallet

  1. Use hardware wallets: For significant holdings, hardware wallets like Ledger provide an extra layer of security by keeping private keys offline.
  2. Create strong passwords: Use unique, complex passwords for wallet accounts and associated email addresses.
  3. Enable two-factor authentication: When available, always enable 2FA on exchange accounts and wallet services.
  4. Back up your seed phrase: Store your recovery phrase in a secure, offline location, preferably in multiple locations.
  5. Never share private keys: Legitimate services will never ask for your private keys or seed phrase.
  6. Use dedicated devices: Consider using a dedicated device for high-value cryptocurrency activities.

Safe Connection Practices

  • Verify URLs: Always ensure you're on the correct website before connecting your wallet (check for https and the correct domain).
  • Disconnect after use: Don't leave your wallet connected to dApps when not in use.
  • Review permissions: Check what permissions you're granting when connecting your wallet to dApps.
  • Use secure networks: Avoid conducting transactions over public WiFi networks.
  • Keep software updated: Regularly update your wallet software and operating system.

Liquidity Provision Guide

Understanding Liquidity Pools

Liquidity pools on Raydium consist of pairs of tokens locked in smart contracts that facilitate trading. When you provide liquidity:

  • You deposit equal values of two tokens into a pool
  • You receive LP tokens representing your share of the pool
  • You earn trading fees proportional to your share of the pool
  • You may be subject to impermanent loss if token prices change significantly relative to each other

Step-by-Step Liquidity Provision

  1. Prepare tokens: Ensure you have both tokens in the pair you wish to provide liquidity for.
  2. Connect wallet: Connect your Solana wallet to Raydium's official website.
  3. Access Liquidity section: Navigate to the "Liquidity" tab on Raydium.
  4. Select token pair: Choose the two tokens you want to provide liquidity for.
  5. Enter amount: Input the amount of one token (the corresponding amount of the second token will calculate automatically).
  6. Review details: Check the amounts, pool share percentage, and other information.
  7. Confirm transaction: Approve the transaction in your wallet.
  8. Receive LP tokens: Once complete, you'll receive LP tokens representing your position.

Understanding Impermanent Loss

Impermanent loss occurs when the price ratio between your paired tokens changes after you deposit them in a liquidity pool. Key points:

  • The greater the price divergence, the greater the impermanent loss
  • The loss is "impermanent" until you withdraw your liquidity
  • Trading fees earned may offset or exceed impermanent loss in high-volume pools
  • Stable pairs (like USDC-USDT) have minimal impermanent loss risk
  • Volatile pairs can experience significant impermanent loss during price movements

Consider using an impermanent loss calculator to estimate potential risks before providing liquidity.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Failed Transactions

Common causes and solutions:

  1. Insufficient SOL for fees: Ensure you have enough SOL to cover transaction fees (typically at least 0.01 SOL).
  2. High network congestion: During periods of high network activity, transactions may fail. Try increasing your slippage tolerance or waiting for less congested periods.
  3. Price impact too high: For large trades, the price impact may exceed your settings. Consider breaking the trade into smaller amounts.
  4. Slippage tolerance too low: If prices are volatile, your transaction might fail due to price movements. Try increasing slippage tolerance slightly.
  5. Connection issues: Ensure your internet connection is stable and try reconnecting your wallet.

Wallet Connection Issues

Steps to resolve:

  1. Refresh the page and try reconnecting
  2. Clear browser cache and cookies
  3. Ensure your wallet extension is up to date
  4. Try a different browser
  5. Check if the wallet is unlocked
  6. Disable VPN or proxy services temporarily
  7. Ensure popup blockers aren't preventing wallet connections

If problems persist, try using a different supported wallet to determine if the issue is wallet-specific.

Missing Tokens or Balances

What to check:

  • Verify the transaction has been confirmed on the blockchain explorer
  • Ensure you're connected to the correct network (Solana Mainnet)
  • Check if the token needs to be added manually to your wallet
  • Verify you're looking at the correct wallet address
  • Some tokens may have transfer fees or reflection mechanisms that affect balances

For LP tokens, note these are often not displayed by default in wallets and may need to be added manually.
